    With a commitment to the principles of equity and inclusive excellence, the College of Health and Human Sciences provides transformative academic, research, and outreach programs that promote the health and well-being of people, their environments, and communities in which they live. The College is comprised of eight academic units: the Departments of Construction Management, Design and Merchandising, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Health and Exercise Science, Human Development and Family Studies, and Occupational Therapy, and the Schools of Education and Social Work. Total undergraduate and graduate enrollment is over 5,000 students, with 125 tenure-track and 60 full-time non-tenure track faculty members. This includes primary and secondary majors, minors and certificates. The College has the highest undergraduate enrollment on campus and is home to 11 undergraduate majors, including three of the most popular at CSU. Several of the College’s academic programs are nationally recognized or ranked. Each of the eight academic units in the college has a program leading to the master’s degree and six offer a Ph.D. option. The College of Health and Human Sciences houses 20 different Institutes, Centers, and Special Units as well as an extension presence designed to provide a broad range of outreach activities, to support social, economic and community development in Colorado, the nation, and the world.

    Position Summary
    Colorado State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences. This position is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to provide visionary leadership for a growing college at one of the nation’s leading research universities.

    The Dean is the principal administrative and academic officer of the College and reports to the Provost/Executive Vice President of the University. This position provides leadership to the College by working with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to establish a strong vision, and collaborating with others to achieve that vision. The Dean is responsible for managing and ensuring the quality of the College’s academic programs and curriculum, fostering a strong research culture, implementing policies, managing personnel and financial resources, and providing strong leadership for development and fundraising initiatives.     Required Job Qualifications
    An earned doctorate, terminal degree or equivalent professional experience in a discipline within the CSU College of Health and Human Sciences or a related discipline;
    An outstanding record of achievement that merits appointment as tenured full professor in one of the CSU College of Health and Human Sciences’ academic units;
    Administrative and/or leadership experience at the level of dean, department head, director, or equivalent;
    Demonstrated personnel and fiscal management/budget experience.
    Personal or professional commitment to diversity and inclusion demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity outcomes.
    Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
    Preferred Job Qualifications
    Significant and successful administrative experience – with a record of progressive or extensive leadership responsibilities, providing strategic leadership in a large, complex higher education institution or comparable organization;
    A clear commitment to academic excellence and demonstrated leadership in undergraduate or graduate education and scholarly activities;
    Demonstrated evidence of experience and/or ability in leadership of successful fundraising initiatives;
    Experience working with and across a diverse set of academic disciplines in a scholarly and/or administrative capacity;
    Ability to implement a shared strategic vision for the College;
    Personal qualities that will facilitate open, participatory and collaborative relationships with the University community and external constituencies;
    Excellent organizational, planning, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.
