  • The UC Berkeley Graduate Program in Vision Science emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of vision science research through broad exposure to the basic concepts and techniques used in specialized fields. Offering MS and PhD degrees, students are engaged in both laboratory-based and clinical research, choosing research advisors whose research matches their own interests.

  • In order to be eligible for consideration by the Vision Science Program Admission Committee, you must meet the minimum requirements* to be accepted by UC Berkeley's Graduate Division:

    BA or BS Degree from an Accredited College or University
    3.0 or better cumulative GPA
    The General Test of the Graduate Record Exam
    The following is optional:

    GRE Advanced Topic Test
